A Delightful Stay with Great Hospitality!
We enjoyed our stay immensely! The location was perfect for exploring the city. The buffet dinner at the cafe was a highlight—delicious food and friendly service. Must try the coffee! To avoid rain, take taxis to the rear entrance. It saves you from the busy street!

Friendly staff, tricky dining
Upon arrival, the attentive staff greeted us with warm smiles, making us feel right at home immediately. The room was spotless and incredibly comfortable. we were truly impressed.
However, our dining experience fell flat. Breakfast lacked variety and freshness, leaving us disappointed. The layout of the dining area felt cramped, which detracted from the experience.

Excellent location, beautiful lobby, large atrium with dining options
The rooms feel outdated and in need of a serious renovation!!! The traffic noise can be a nuisance, especially lower floors!!! The bathroom cleanliness leaves much to be desired, which is disappointing!!!

The hotel is conveniently located near Queen Victoria Park and within walking distance of the city’s best restaurants. The twin double room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast offered a good variety, particularly enjoying the local meats. The room itself could have used some brighter decor, as nothing especially stood out during our stay.

Had an amazing time with friends! The hotel was the perfect launchpad to explore the Canterbury region. We loved wandering through the scenic paths along the river and enjoying the tree-lined banks of Hagley Park. We also ventured out to local restaurants, and the staff were super helpful. Highly recommend checking out the nearby ski fields and foodie experiences.
The gym had a strange smell and was too stuffy to work out in, which was a letdown.

The Market Place Restaurant & Bar served up some tasty breakfasts, and I highly recommend the nearby Cafe 1851 for their gourmet sandwiches. Also, the room was spacious with stunning views of the Southern Alps—talk about a lovely stay!
I called ahead for parking but found nothing available on arrival—stressful! The hotel could definitely sort out a better car park arrangement to smooth out those bumps for guests.

Convenient stay with excellent vegetarian food
I recently stayed for two nights and found the location very convenient, with easy access to the city. My room was comfortable, but I was disappointed that there wasn’t a safe provided. The highlight of my stay was the impressive vegetarian menu in the A La Carte Restaurant, paired with fantastic service. One downside was the cold atmosphere in the restaurant due to the air conditioning, making it uncomfortable at times.

We loved being close to stunning Hagley Park, where we explored the beautiful tree-lined paths. The room was spacious and comfortable, making it a great base for our family adventures. Our grandchild enjoyed the views from our room, adding to the charm of our stay.
My kids wished for a better breakfast selection and a few more activities for families, as the options felt limited during our stay.

The room was clean and comfortable, but the layout felt a bit basic. There was a nice large mirror, which was a plus. Really liked the modern bathroom vibes. But, the internet costs were crazy high and parking added up too. Location was great though, near the tram line, casino, and shops, which made up for some of the drawbacks.
